To enable developer tab in excel 2007, Go to File Menu and click on “Excel Options” which would be right at the bottom. Then tick mark the checkbox which says “Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon”. Further to enable macro, again go to “Excel Options” and in there click on “Trust Center” which is at the left panel then Go to “Trust Center Settings” which is an option towards right bottom side. In the “Trust Center Settings” Go to “Macro Setting” and check mark the radio button which says “Enable all macros” and at the bottom enable the checkbox which says “Trust access to the VBA project object model”

- Create Folders on your local machine: Create as many folders with the names as you want. Simply write down the names in first column of provided coded reference file then press “Ctrl+k”, a window/dialog box will pop up, enter the path (local location) you want the folders to be created then press ‘Enter’. All folders with the names written in first column of excel will be created on your entered path (local machine location)
For example: Write down x,y,z in the first column of excel then press, “Ctrl+k”, then in the next window/dialog box that pops up, add your local machine path, say “C:\Local Folder” and click on enter. In the Local Folder on C drive, 3 folders will be created named x,y and z.
- Collect names of folders located in local machine in excel: At the outset, make one cell active i.e. select one single cell to begin adding the names from, then press “Ctrl+g”, thereafter in the next dialog box that pops up, add your local path where the folders are situated for which the names are to be taken in the excel. In the end, press ‘Enter’ and all folder names will appear in the respective excel column starting from the cell you initially selected.
For example: If a folder in your local machine has subfolders named x,y and z then simply select any cell you want to begin copying the folder names, say “A1” then click “Ctrl+g”, then in the next dialog box add your local machine path say “C:\Local Folder” where folders named x,y and z are sitting and press “Enter”. Folder names x,y and z will be printed in the cells A1,A2 and A3 respectively.
